Paint the Town Studio & Gallery is an independent public gallery rooted in Black ownership and open to everyone. Founded by visual artist Jarael Adams in 2013 in Buffalo’s Allentown neighborhood, it is a place where art, creative practice, and community meet.
For more than a decade, Paint the Town has created space, opportunity, and visibility for artists of all backgrounds. We also serve the wider community through art programs, activities, and shared experiences.
We give particular attention to Black, minority, and underserved artists who face barriers to access and opportunity. Everyone is welcome in a space where people can encounter art, create, connect, and feel that they belong.

Through our partnership with HeartWorks Foundation Inc., the space also supports shared creative resources, mentorship, and professional development. HeartWorks is an independent nonprofit; Paint the Town contributes space and equipment in kind.
